CDW Expands IT Solutions and Services for Higher Ed After Acquiring Sirius

The acquisition strengthens CDW’s ability to deliver customer-centric outcomes across a full technology solutions stack.

CDW has acquired Sirius Computer Solutions, a leading integrator of technology-based solutions such as IT strategy, security, digital transformation, cloud and managed services. The acquisition will accelerate CDW’s hybrid infrastructure, security, digital and data innovation, cloud, and managed services offerings.

Sirius recently helped a college with 6,000 students recover from a simultaneous double-disk failure on a disk-storage appliance. The failure caused complete storage pool data loss. With Sirius’s modern disaster recovery solution, the college was able to restore 18 terabytes of data in one week, or 99.99 percent of the data that had been lost.

“We have long admired CDW and welcome the opportunity to bring our complementary services and solutions capabilities to serve a broader market of customers as a combined company,” Sirius President and CEO Joe Mertens said in a press release. “Sirius and CDW share common values and a performance-driven, customer-focused culture.”

“As customers require increasingly complex and critical digital transformation initiatives, Sirius’ broad portfolio of world-class technology-based solutions and services-led approach will immediately add to our capabilities to meet this demand,” Christine A. Leahy, CDW’s president and CEO, said in the release.
