Is Your College Preparing to Upgrade to Windows 8?
Windows 8 is set to launch this Friday, and IT managers are already trying to decide whether they should upgrade. The new software will share a kernel with the Windows Phone software and will also feature the Windows RT tablet software. Microsoft is making a big push for mobile devices, and with SkyDrive, the built-in cloud integration app, the operating system will sync files across all of a user’s devices.
So while Microsoft is finally ready to provide the device connectivity that individual users have been pining for, are enterprises, governments, school districts and universities ready for the change? We asked a few of our 50 Must-Read Higher Education bloggers what they thought; here are the answers we got. Please join the discussion, below!
@edtech_highered The short answer is maybe. We skipped Vista entirely - converted from XP to 7. If we do, it will be after much testing.

@edtech_highered I want to put Win8 on a VM on my Mac, but I don't plan on upgrading my gaming PC (staying on Win7 for now).
