Featured ISTE speakers will include Cornel West, renowned author and professor at Union Theological Seminary; Kristina Ishmael, deputy director of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Technology; Adam Juarez, technology integration coach and one of EdTech’s 2021 K–12 IT Influencers; Rachelle Dené Poth, a Spanish and STEAM teacher and a 2020 K–12 IT influencer; and Wanda Terral, technology director for Tennessee’s Lakeland School System.
The conference will also sprinkle in presentations from local artists and educators from Louisiana, including Spencer Kiper, instructional technologist for Caddo Parrish School District, and actor Tarzan Davis, a former elementary school teacher.

Esports and Emerging Tech Take Center Stage
There will be a huge esports presence at ISTE this year with more than a dozen sessions on the topic. At the “ISTE Immersive Esports Experience,” conference attendees can observe students playing games live and drop in on student and educator panels discussing why competitive gaming matters in K–12. They can also check out sessions on how to start a team; how to get started with the Microsoft Esports Teachers Academy; and how gaming empowers girls.
