New Webinar Features Ed Tech Experts

Rebecca Torchia is a web editor for EdTech: Focus on K–12. Previously, she has produced podcasts and written for several publications in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and her hometown of Pittsburgh.

CDW Education’s Laura Boone, collaborative manager, and Akilah Willery, K–12 education strategist, co-host a new webinar series called EdTech Coffee Talk. In the show, these educational technology experts talk about the ed tech landscape in K–12 schools. They have these conversations “over a cup of coffee” as casual discussions.

The webinar frequently features guest experts to share knowledge on K–12 security, devices and more. Boone and Willery also welcome guests from ed tech organizations. Erin Mote, executive director and co-founder of InnovateEDU, will join the show on May 1 to speak about her organization.

Viewers can watch the webinar live on the first and third Mondays of each month, and past episodes are posted to YouTube.

EdTech Coffee Talk is the latest webinar showcasing advice and thought leadership from the experts at CDW Education, but it is not the only place viewers can find such insights.

Focus on EDU: EdTech and the Education Experience is a podcast hosted by Douglas Konopelko, CDW•G’s national esports manager. This series covers K–12 and higher education topics, welcoming guests to share their expertise in 15-minute segments posted to YouTube.

While EdTech Coffee Talk began early in 2023, Konopelko has been recording Focus on EDU since October 2020. Previously called Focus on K–12, the show expanded its scope to include higher education guests and topics in April 2022.
