Esports and Emerging Tech Take Center Stage
There will be a huge esports presence at ISTE this year with more than a dozen sessions on the topic. At the “ISTE Immersive Esports Experience,” conference attendees can observe students playing games live and drop in on student and educator panels discussing why competitive gaming matters in K–12. They can also check out sessions on how to start a team; how to get started with the Microsoft Esports Teachers Academy; and how gaming empowers girls.

Finally, those passionate about ed tech tend to get excited about seeing the new products in the exhibition hall, but they also want to join the conversations on how emerging tech can impact learning today. Look for sessions on game-based learning, learning in the metaverse, introducing students to nonfungible tokens, and what web3 means for education.
