ISTELive 2022: Sessions to Highlight Tech Leadership, Digital Equity, Esports and More

At the first in-person session in three years, K–12 ed tech experts will share best practices in New Orleans via livestreaming and hybrid sessions.

Teachers, school administrators, technology leaders and technology providers are preparing to kick off the summer at one of the largest K–12 ed tech conferences in the world: the annual gathering of the International Society for Technology in Education.

The June 26—29 event will feature hundreds of professional development opportunities under the theme of “Empowering Educators. Elevating Equity.” Sessions will cover technology integration, technology leadership, emerging technologies, digital equity, data privacy, student engagement, personalized learning, esports and student impact.

The conference, which attracts an estimated 16,000 attendees, will be held in person for the first time since 2019. This year’s participants can choose to attend live sessions in New Orleans, view sessions remotely via livestream or participate in both in-person and virtual sessions.

There will be a huge esports presence at ISTE this year with more than a dozen sessions on the topic. At the “ISTE Immersive Esports Experience,” conference attendees can observe students playing games live and drop in on student and educator panels discussing why competitive gaming matters in K–12. They can also check out sessions on how to start a team; how to get started with the Microsoft Esports Teachers Academy; and how gaming empowers girls.

Look for sessions on game-based learning, learning in the metaverse, introducing students to nonfungible tokens, and what web3 means for education.
