7 Ways Tech Can Raise Student Success Rates [#Infographic]

From blended learning to analytics, an educational technology investment organization is identifying what works in classrooms.

Pressure is mounting for colleges and universities to boost student graduation rates. At the same time, many see developing and scaling up learning technologies as a valuable strategy for keeping students engaged in the classroom and promoting success.

A recent infographic from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) identifies several ways technology can aid student success. The organization awards grants for technology solutions in education, including blended learning initiatives and learning analytics.

“The reality we face in higher education today invites different approaches to promote student success,” EDUCAUSE blogger Kristen Vogt writes in the post the infographic accompanies.

“Our first challenge to the field was to find ways to bring to scale those different approaches—and even more specifically, technology-enabled innovations that promote student success in higher education,” writes Vogt.

Since its inception in 2010, NGLC’s Building Blocks for College Completion initiative has distributed more than $16 million in grant funding toward technologies that can raise retention efforts and track student performance with real-time data.

After digesting these solutions, NGLC has derived seven lessons learned and related action steps that, if adopted, could promote student success in higher education.

NGLC posted the following infographic on Slideshare in early September:
