CDW Expands IT Services and Offerings with Sirius Acquisition

Acquiring the integrator of technology-based solutions will scale CDW’s services portfolio and delivery of customer-centric outcomes.

CDW acquired Sirius Computer Solutions, a leading integrator of technology-based solutions that include digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud systems and managed services. The acquisition allows CDW to scale its solution and service offerings across the IT ecosystem. With this deal, CDW strengthens its cybersecurity, digital and data innovation, cloud and managed services offerings.

Sirius’s capabilities help institutions defend against and recover from ransomware attacks. When a phishing attack allowed bad actors to penetrate a company’s data systems, Sirius aided in incident response, remediation and subsequent increased cybersecurity measures.

In a separate ransomware incident, preventive security solutions implemented by Sirius protected a company’s hybrid Nutanix Acropolis and VMware environment, allowing it to recover within a week.

“We have long admired CDW and welcome the opportunity to bring our complementary services and solutions capabilities to serve a broader market of customers as a combined company,” Joe Mertens, Sirius’s president and CEO, said in a release announcing the acquisition. “Sirius and CDW share common values and a performance-driven, customer-focused culture.”

“As customers require increasingly complex and critical digital transformation initiatives, Sirius’ broad portfolio of world-class technology-based solutions and services-led approach will immediately add to our capabilities to meet this demand,” Christine A. Leahy, CDW’s president and CEO, said in the release.
