Pinckney's Infrastructure Triple Threat
- A 2010 bond gave Pinckney Community Schools the funding it needed to upgrade the network backbone to support Power over Ethernet technology; to replace an outdated Tadiran phone system with a Voice over Internet Protocol solution; and to install wireless networking in all buildings.
- PCS ultimately chose an all-Cisco infrastructure that includes 380 Cisco Unified IP phones, Cisco Catalyst 6509 Ethernet and Catalyst 4900M Series switches, a Cisco 5500 Series wireless controller and Cisco Aironet 1140 Series wireless access points.
- The new network has vastly improved teaching and learning at Pinckney New Tech High School and other schools in the district.
Participants: Tom McCurdy and Michael Partridge of Pinckney Community Schools; Steve Keskes, Chris Ozias, Josh Loukotka and Liam Higgins of Pinckney New Tech High School
