How an Illinois School District Built the Infrastructure to Enable BYOD

  • After evaluating the existing IT infrastructure, CUSD 200 decided to rebuild the network at all 23 sites, install IP-based phones and implement wireless.
  • District officials wanted a single-vendor solution that could be project-managed by a single source. CUSD 200 chose an all-Cisco infrastructure, which CDW•G finished deploying in late 2011.
  • The district now allows all users to bring their own mobile computing devices to campus and to connect to district resources and the Internet using its open wireless network.
