NY takes $2B Bond for School Technology Upgrades

Schools across the state will soon have access to funds for technology upgrades, after voters decisively approved three statewide ballot measures this month.

New York is borrowing $2 billion to fund technology and facility upgrades. The funds allow schools to spend their share on new technology, refurbish existing space for new prekindergarten programs or acquire new space according to The Journal News.

The bond act is an effort by state officials to help close the technology gap between its schools.
