FETC 2023: Technology Opens the Door to New Innovations in K–12 Education

At this year’s Future of Education Technology Conference, speakers will focus on the ways tech streamlines the digital workflow and student experience.

The Future of Education Technology Conference invites administrators, IT leaders, educators, library media specialists and ed tech coaches to convene for four days of sharing and learning. This year’s conference, in New Orleans, will highlight how educational technology positively disrupted the past three years of learning.

Keynote sessions planned for the event will showcase technology through the lens of what it means for the future of education. Attendees can catch Anne-Marie Imafidon, founder and CEO of Stemettes and host of the Women Tech Charge podcast, presenting on the importance of inclusion in a tech-driven future. Also, New York Times’ best-selling author Daniel Burrus will speak on transforming education with tech.

Rather than looking at technology as the innovation, conference speakers will share how today’s education system can use technology to perform the innovation. Sessions at FETC’s 2023 event are expected to cover wide-ranging themes in K–12 education, from esports and data analysis to teacher retention.

FETC’s Preplanned Tracks Bring Relevant Insights to Attendees

Browsing the breadth of FETC’s 2023 schedule is daunting. To help attendees decide which presentations will best further their learning goals for the event, FETC offers five tracks tailored to administrators, IT leaders, educators, library media specialists and ed tech coaches.

The tracks are intended to guide rather than limit conferencegoers. Any attendee can attend any session they choose, but on the agenda — and in the conference’s mobile app — they can opt to filter sessions by track.

Sessions for administrators, for example, will primarily examine technology through the lens of building leadership pipelines, planning and implementing new initiatives and evaluating digital trends. Educator sessions are more focused on tools for student engagement and classroom device management, whereas sessions for library media specialists will highlight literacy technologies.

K–12 IT Influencers Abound at FETC’s 2023 Conference

Many recognizable names from EdTech’s K–12 IT influencer lists will be present in New Orleans for this event.

Attendees will likely encounter Douglas Konopelko, CDW Education’s national esports manager, in the venue’s esports theater.

Other influencers, such as Mario and Alberto Herraez-Velazquez, Jeni Long and Sallee Clark, and Monica Burns will lead sessions in their respective areas of expertise.
