EDUCAUSE 2021: Transformation, Resilience and the Common Good

The hybrid conference will take place in Philadelphia and online.

The 2021 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference kicks off Oct. 26, and as the pandemic continues to profoundly alter the industry, higher education leaders are gathering to share their discoveries and solutions to ongoing challenges.

This year, the conference will focus on transformation, resilience and the common good — including how education technology can support diversity, equity and inclusion; social justice; and social responsibility. Keynote speakers include Ruha Benjamin, an African American studies professor at Princeton University; Paul Quinn College President Michael Sorrell; and EDUCAUSE Vice President of Partnerships, Communities and Research Susan Grajek.

The agendas for in-person and online events will cover the latest developments in cybersecurity, privacy and student success. Presentations will take place in Philadelphia and online, and there will be online-only content as well. An on-demand viewing option will be available until Nov. 29.

“The last two years on campuses across the world have been focused on adapting to unrelenting, dynamic change,” EDUCAUSE CEO John O’Brien writes in an October blog post. “The ‘pivot’ metaphor doesn't do justice to the ongoing work accomplished by the technology professionals in the EDUCAUSE community.”

“Like you, EDUCAUSE isn’t indulging in nostalgia, making lemonade, or buying time until things return to ‘normal,’” O’Brien writes. “We’re eager to welcome you to an annual conference that we have transformed into something truly special.”
